Sept. 2004
I downloaded the Nature Painter last week and can hardly believe I only spent $40 for something
that has brought me this much joy! It's more fun than Christmas morning was when I was a kid.
I'm in the over-50 crowd and have been painting off and on most of my life. I got serious with acrylics
about four years ago during unemployment, but I suffer from serious chemical sensitivities and had to all
but give it up. I can paint outdoors, with a fan blowing on me (and my paper and paint), but it's not much
fun, so I just stopped painting.
But my heart ached to get back to it. I often walked around wistfully with a brush in my hand.
However, the ominous illness I would suffer kept me away from my easel. Watching Bob Ross shows only made it feel
worse. I tried watercolors, but I don't seem to have a proclivity for it and was not happy with the pictures
anyway.
And then I discovered your product, while following links from a website given out on a painting show on our local
college station (KCSM San Mateo, CA).
Zowie! to borrow from Batman. This is what I've been dreaming about since I first used the
"paint" feature in Word.
This software is so great, that once you get the hang of the features and drop-down menus, you can paint anything.
It's important not to get discouraged in the first few days while you experiment with the pressure, paint amount, and
color mixing, because somewhere on that fourth or fifth day, you will turn out a masterpiece!
And NO FUMES!
And I can print my work on stock watercolor paper and hang them in my own apartment (not possible before since the
lingering fumes bothered me).
Thank you so much for making this available to the public, and especially making it affordable.
Peace and Joy,
Linda Lou P. Oakland, CA
